I was in at Eland House today in Victoria for meetings with civil servants.

Interesting to observe the dress code adopted by the civil service these days.

My father was a career civil servant & I recall the starched collars, pin-stripe trousers & bowler that was essential kit for every senior civil servant.

Fridays is obviously dress down day as the chap who met me in reception was in a T Shirt & jeans.

How times have changed.
