New Standards framework agreed at Central Beds

Another step towards the eventual dumping of the frankly ludicrous Standards for England regime took place this morning.

The General Purposes Committee of Central Beds agreed a sensible, light touch ethical framework which elected members of the Council along with Town & Parish Councillors will be expected to follow.

Serious wrongdoing will now be a Police matter & the sort of petty complaints that have clogged up the system ever since the last government introduced the nanny state to the standards process will hopefully be a thing of the past.

There will be I am sure a few vexatious complainants with a bit more time on their hands.
