Cleggy visits Bedford

I was tickled to see this article in the Beds on Sunday about a visit paid to Bedford by our esteemed Deputy PM. It seems that the reporter sought permission to attend & was advised that the event was only open to paid up members of the Liberal Democrat Party.

An entirely separate meeting was held between local business leaders & Mr Clegg, hence the absence of beards & sandals. I suspect the story relates to the Lib Dem meeting & the picture to the entirely separate & apolitical meeting with business people, which was quite properly joined by the Chief Executive of the Borough
